Another Ivy Rayne Custom costume

So this year we have collaborated with Ivy Rayne again for a Competition Costume, with the theme Neon Dream Fairy.

The start of the idea was to make something in bright colours, I ended up using neon Pink, Green and a Blue. The design then continued to have golden leaves crawling all over it, giving it the fairy influence. She liked the idea of a tutu, but they are not the most practical on the pole, so we went for a ruffle of tulle on the bum.

The vines and leaves all had to be hand basted on first and then sewn on, it was a big job but all worth it I believe.

And in the end I decided she had to sparkle while on stage, so more than 500 Swarovski crystals were added on top of that.

The first toile went well, it needed some adjusting but overall okay. 

When I started on the real deal I realised what I got myself into with those gold leaves. I am sure in my 20's I wouldn't have had the patience to sit through and hand baste than sew all of those vines and leaves on with a very small zig zag. But now the idea of creating something stunning far out ways the time it takes.

The Crystals took me a while to add and I still think there could have been more added, I had just run out. I had wondered if I should buy more, but luckily there is always a deadline.

New year new Designs 2017

I have had Bikini Designs for pole dance for a little while now. But I have decided to be a bit more official and actually do it as a part time job now. So I made a 2017 collection and here they are.

I used the names of people I know and people that have inspired me to create these designs. They are available on my Etsy Shop and more images are on my Website.

Then the Doris Monokini

And the last the Madison Monokini

It was a lot of work getting all of these together and making this collection, but if you love doing something it is always worth it.

I can't wait to see people train in these bikini's this year.

Personalise your bum or Bedazzle it

I have been wanting to do a simple line of knickers that you could personalize by adding your name in Swarovski crystals on the bum.

Or any other wording of course.
I named it Bedazzle it, because its easy and simple.

So I was trying to think of ways to get this out on the social media, into the world etc.

I am in Switzerland at the moment with possibly one of the strongest currency right now making it tricky to stay competitive in the market. 

When I saw that Felix Cane, possibly the most amazing lady ever is having a competition back in Perth where I picked up my fascination with Pole dance.

I wrote to find out if they would be interested in having me make some shorts for Felix and to take a #sundaybumday picture to promote the items. And I would then give the winner a pair of shorts with their chosen name/ word on them.

And yes so it happened, I was over the moon. 

But now the big work had to start, I had to make sure I could get all the things to them in time for photo's and before the competition.

I didn't want to let them down because they were doing me a huge favor, and I hoped that they would get something out if it as well.

All the things were ordered and everything was put into motion to get this done.
I even decided to order Gold and Black fabric to match the theme of the competition, making sure that what I will make for the winner and Felix of course, truly is a one off.

She got the crystals to shine in the sun :)

Its quite a time consuming task gluing each single stone onto the shorts, and I don't think I could ever charge a hourly rate for it because no one would pay that for shorts. But at least I get spread some smiles and hopefully fun times with these items. And maybe people will look at my other items as well in the future.

The Spider line pole dance clothing

I made this spider line of pole dance clothing, with 3 versions.

Number one, is very skimpy and sexy. 

And although Like it I am not sure I will sell many of them.

Number two, is a bit more fun but I am having to do some more things to the top and go over the patterns and sizing again.

And Number Three, to be honest is now my favourite.

I drew it as a simpler more covered version, and didn't think much of it at the time. But it has become my favourite and possibly the one I am more likely to keep making.

I gave two and three to a amazing friend of mine in Denmark to test and take some photo's of. And what she has come up with is great, I am now able to alter and perfect the patterns. And I also get some photos of a beautiful person posing in them.

With or without shoes?!?!?!

I am a lady that enjoys her pole dancing, its great for my strength flexibility and fitness. I have found a great hobby but also met some really awesome ladies and gents in the studio's of Bobbi's Perth.

I have now moved to Europe, and I have started looking for a place where I could do the same. My very first impression was not very friendly, there was no smiling reception lady happy to explain all the levels or even a teacher happy to ask me to come back after class so we could talk a bit more about the levels.

But I persevered and tried a smaller studio owned by two sisters. Since the first attempt was a visit I thought maybe email first so its easier. They told me they are happy for me to come by and do a trial class so I could see if I would be happy at the studio.

But, they don't wear heels and its a aesthetic choice. 

I thought fair enough but I want to wear heels, because I look better can do lots of fun things with them and I can collect them.

So then I started asking why are people so anti shoes in Europe?
Is it because they prefer to make it a sport, or gymnastic thing rather than a dance or even be associated with the clubs?
Okay yes they are generally more conservative, specially in Switzerland. I might have been a bit presumptuous to think I could just drop in and start off where I left it in Perth.

The other question is will this change how I feel about pole dance?
  I am a seamstress/ designer of costumes and I have enjoyed the dressing up and wearing fun outfits to classes maybe a bit more than most. So loosing that simple little accessory the shoes could make it less dress up and fun.

I had my trial class and they were super nice and inviting, I could pretty much slot in and continue just bare feet. And I will do bare feet, but I might go down a few levels to get my footing with the German lingo and also the static moves. Its always good to polish up technique and now learn how my lines look without the pretties on the end of my feet. ;)

I am not giving up on the shoes never, but I will give myself the time to learn things both ways.

I would love to hear why people like shoes to pole dance with, and why not.
I think its a personal thing but its interesting to hear how others feel about it.

Pole dance with Champayne

So I got to make another pole dance costume for the amazing Champayne

She is a inspiration for me and I am sure for many other too.

Soo strong so flexible and just plain cool :)

I made her the knickers the chaps, neck piece and hand cuffs.

 As you can tell I love the tassels on the chaps ;)

the idea came from her and we worked together to make it work.
