New year new season new bikinis

Since I have some new bikinis out I furred I would talk about how they came to be and where the names come from.

First up the Kati top and Gracie Knickers
the Kati top is something that is sexy and can be a little revealing but always stays in place. The name comes from a Pole/ Yoga lady now living in Melbourne Australia, but I met her at my very first APQ competition in Perth Australia.

Then the Gracie knickers, they are a high waist strappy knicker with enough crotch width to feel comfortable enough doing the splits anywhere in public. These were named after the Amazing Gracie Buntine, a strong young lady also from Melbourne that needs no introduction.

I unofficially call this the Melbourne set ;)

Next we Have the Celia Top, a halter top with a hint of harness. This one I have made the cup a little bit larger to make sure no one pops out of it while swimming, dancing or just Festivaling. Named after one of our Models Celia its is perfect for just enjoying life.

the Salomé playsuits

These are something I have been wanting to do for a long time, a mesh knickers with some harness top. They are great for adding something special to your festival outfit or just your pole outfit. They are unisex and can be worn any old way. Named after our super sexy Model Salomé, these are bound to sizzle.

The Sweetheart Leotard

And finally the Sweetheart Leotard, its a Leotard with a heart cut out over your bum. And the top is very 80s inspired with  the cut generally showing some side boob and cleavage.
Named after its heart in the sweet spot, I make these to your special specifications in colours. If you head over to my shop you can make your own colour way.

Here I have 3 versions of so many.

So far this is what's new, I am bringing some more things into the mix later in the year but do not fear there will be another blogpost about it.

Ivy Raynes mini me

I had a request from Ivy Rayne to make a costume for a doll to match a old costume she already has.
She sent me the Doll and photos of her in the costume, and I started making this tiny version.

Here is the doll doing some practice moves in her costume at my house

And she seemed happy with the costume so we decided to show it to her owner.

She also liked it which meant we could ship her back to Australia, where she had to get started on rehearsals for her Felix Cane Pole Competion performance.

Here some adventures in rehearsal

It was a fun little project, and they both looked great. Can't wait to see what she comes up with next.

Until Next time

Champaynes Cow Girl

Once again I had the pleasure to work with Champayne aka @julie_moran_champayne on instagram.

This time it was for the Felix Cane Pole Championships 2018

The Costume Idea came from her, and its a Bra, Champayne knickers, chaps, Vest and cuffs in Black and pink. Adorned with around 250 Swarovski crystals and hand cut fringe out of the lycra we made the costume out of.

Here some images;
The Champayne kickers

The Bra with the cuffs and Knickers

The Chaps and Vest

And here all of it together

And a close up of the back of the vest.

The bra its self wasn't made by me, I used a favourite of hers and covered it and added the neck piece.
She added some more Crystals to match the Hat to the costume, and to be honest there can never be enough Sparkly things. ;)

Here some photos of the performance;

And Back stage

She as always was stunning I wish I could have seen it live.

Until next time

Working with overseas customers to make something special

Making a one off Performance Costumes is something I love doing, its not the most profitable work but you can really be creative if your Customer lets you.

This costume was made for a lady in Perth, Australia.

From the First Skype call I was nervous, I wasn't sure if it would work with her being all the way over there but I was willing to give it a go.

The Costume was for Australian Pole Championships (APC)
The theme Aliens Zombie I guess a bit apocalyptic with the song from War of the Worlds there isn't much else that goes well enough.

Here are some of the images we looked at and shared on Pinterest

https://au.pinterest.com/ladyadesign/ivys-apc-inspiration-board/

from there we talked and I started drawing some ideas, in the mean time she measured herself so that I could draft a custom parroter for her.

We had the idea of the two faces for her contortion moves, which meant I had to add a hood to the monokini. Here is the draft

As you can see it is a very specific and detailed.
But unfortunately I rarely do things the easy simple way, I love making things that are different and special. And its even better when my customer is also happy to be different.

--------------------------------------------------------

Once this was all sorted I went to order all the fabrics required for the costume. And it looks like we were lucky to get some of the last bits of some of the fabrics. Sometimes you never know if your supplier still has what you need.
All the crystals were also ordered and there is heaps going on this Costume, which is always the exciting part because it means that the costume gets its finishing touch.

The drafting of the pattern didn't take too long an then it came to altering it, giving me all the pattern pieces for the finished product.

Making something like this with no actual access to your client is pretty nervy, I am not sure what I was thinking. Sometimes its best not to think too much ;)

--------------------------------------------------------

Now I am at the end of 2015 and I have made the first toille which I am sending to Perth for her to start practicing with and seeing what needs to be changed before I start on the final garments.

I didn't use the exact colours and fabrics, mainly something similar.

Here it is (I need a dummy so you can see it better, but that will come one day fingers crossed)

So I will hopefully find out soon how my pattern drafting went to make these garments in the real fabrics.

--------------------------------------------------------

I have seen it on and it works well, I am glad there wasn't too many alterations. Now its time to make the real deal with the real fabrics.

Here are some of the details

The Silver really shines and the crystals going on will make it sparkle even more. I tried to make the slashes look a bit hacked and jagged, to give a clawed look.

The masks were painted to give them some facial features and crystals were added of course. Now for the waiting and seeing how it will look on stage.

--------------------------------------------------------

She placed and was very happy with the Costume and work we had done together.

Here is a little collage of photo's she put up on Facebook after the event

I saw little snippets of video online and it looked very cool, now it is time to wait for the professional Photo's and Video.

Here are some performance Photos

I hope you enjoyed seeing a little of what went into making this costume, and to be honest this was just the Costume part.

There were loads of other people involved in making this performance happen, from trainers, to physiotherapists to partners being supportive I am sure.

Thank you for reading

Costumes for a group

At the start of the year I offered to make some pole Costumes for my pole class.
They were developing a routine and we performed it at the studio open day in April.

We all have different tastes in pole clothing, some of us are worried about certain parts of our body others not so much.
So I ended up bring fabric samples in to see what colours they liked, we all also had our favorites and they were different. But we got to agree on a colour set and I gave the group 5 different options in design they could choose from.

Here are some photos of us in these garments.

thanks to the ladies for letting me use the photos
And thanks for letting me make these costumes :)
